Cape Town, April 10; Leave for home April 11

We went back to Cape Town where we stayed at the lovely Hotel Graeme again....

We walked around the city and saw an unbelievable crowd going to see a soccer game...you could hear them all the way on the waterfront cheering...
Down on the Waterfront Wally, Amanda, Katy, Abbi, Seth and I had some lunch...well, if you call huge pieces of cake lunch, Amanda and Seth...SOME of us had lunch and some of us had dessert only...That's ok, that's what vacation is for!

It was really beautiful at the Waterfront...the weather was gorgeous and the mountains loomed all around...

Table mountain in background...

The stadium where a huge event was going on...

Abbi, Katy, Wally, Amanda and Seth....The Fantastic Five!

Walking back it was getting dark, but it was pretty to see all the lights and the silhouettes of the mountains...

Table mountain looked mystical with clouds hovering at the top...

Gorgeous sunset...

Back at the Hotel Graeme, Dominique and her family had an American style dinner for us as a farewell dinner.  She and her family were so gracious and lovely...

Sharing stories of our time together and exchanging information so that we could keep in touch....

Seth managed to help keep us from wasting any food...he is a human eating machine!

Dominique's brother and sister-in-law talk with Jimi and Christi...

What an awesome bunch of kids!!!  Loved every minute with you guys!!
The next morning at the crack of dawn, a bunch of us decided to go to the top of Table Mountain.  We had heard it was definitely worth going up if at all possible.  We weren't disappointed!
Wally, Amanda, Abbi, Katy and Seth riding up in the cable car...

The view from the top was breathtaking!! You can see all of Cape Town...the stadium is on the far left by the water...

Majestic!

Wally and I...the Cape of Good Hope in the background...

View from the other side of the mountain...

There was a panoramic view that was unbelievable!

Stone building at the top of the mountain...

More majestic views....

Amanda, Wally and Seth high above Cape Town...

Lion's Head mountain below...It looks like it's the same size as Table Mountain from the ground, but you can see it's MUCH smaller...

Me, Wally and Diana...

Cape of Good Hope in background...It was originally called the Cape of Storms because of the treacherous rocks that caused so many ships to wreck here...but it was renamed the Cape of Good Hope in anticipation of opening a sea route to the east...

Last look at the Hotel Graeme....

John, Dominique and Tom...
Goodbye guys!  It was time to start our long travels home....
What an amazing trip with fantastic people!  I shall never forget it!

Port Edward, Eastern Cape, April 9

After we left Tsi Tsa Falls Lodge and Farview School, we drove to a lovely lodge called Ku Boboyi, which was owned by a French chef...needless to say, the food was, once again, amazing!  It was a beautiful setting at the top of a hill, nestled in the woods, overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean.
It was a very comfortable place to end our trip.  We took a ride down to the ocean where some of us swam (Seth - of course, Wally - of course, John, Jimi, Tom, Janet, Abbi, Amanda and Katy) and some of us just waded...
me, Diana and the rest stayed on the shore. It was cold, but not too cold.  It was very cool to say we were in the Indian Ocean!
When we got back from the ocean, the kids jumped in the pool...they couldn't get enough of the water.

This was what was awaiting us in the dining room.  This chicken was very attached to this chair...in fact, to move him out of the dining room, they had to remove the whole chair.  He stayed here practically the whole time.  He was very protective of his chair. At least he wasn't a rooster, so we wouldn't have to worry about waking at 4 am to a loud "cock-a-doodle-do"!
Dinner was, as you might expect, exquisite, as we had a French chef cooking for us....From left: Jimi, Christi, Diana, Abbi, Katy, Wally, Liz, Brian V.
The other table...From left: John, Seth, Amanda, Janet, Brian A., Nique, Tom...

My food was so pretty I had to get a picture of it!
This dessert rivaled the bread pudding at Cyrano's (for those of you who don't know, this is the world's best dessert!).  And yes, I did gain at least 5 pounds on this trip, even with all of the energy we expended....

Some drinks and revisiting our wonderful time together...

Brian A. sporting his Sri Lanka shirt...BTCV will do a build there next summer 2011!! Yay!  BE THE CHANGE!!!

Enjoying the amazing view of the Indian Ocean in the distance before we have to leave...From left, Seth, Brian A., Diana, Tom...

Seth saying good bye to this lovely place...Wally, Seth, Diana, Janet and I got up at 4:45 am and went to the beach this morning...Wally and Seth took a run and the girls and I took a lovely walk.  It was windy and dark and glorious!  So glad we did this!

A view of the Indian Ocean from our lodge.

Abbi is still sleep walking this morning...

Having coffee in the sitting area....

Our bedroom (Diana, Janet and I)...Diana got the LARGE bed and.....
